A 3/8” thick baseplate and 4 support gussets are welded at the bottom of the vertical pole to allow the unit to be installed via an anchoring system. 5/8” diameter stainless steel anchor bolts are included. A black ABS finishing cover is provided to cover anchor bolts after installation. Pole has a watertight vinyl cap to seal out moisture. The entire unit is powdercoated black. EXTENSION ARMS The main (adjustable) extension arm tube is constructed of 1 ½” x 1 ½” tubing. Single-strut extension arm designs are not considered equal. The extension provides a minimum of 18” from the front of the post to the face of the backboard at any given playing height. The height can be adjusted in 6 inch increments with a 30" range using a broom stick or pole.  One spring mounted in the extension assembly is included to counteract the weight of the backboard and rim making one-person adjustments easy. Pole design permits the rim to be mounted directly to the extension arm through the backboard so as to reduce stress on the backboard. RIM Flexible type so as to absorb the stress of player contact. The rim is of institutional quality with an official 5/8” diameter ring. Ring-opening diameter is a standard 18” I.D. Rim has an orange powder-coated finish. Heavy-duty nylon is provided.
